Check it out, here is what appears to be a next-generation 2020 Cadillac Escalade rolling down the streets of Manhattan, New York.
GM is working to redesign their entire line of full-size SUVs. This includes the Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, and the Escalade (ESV).
2020 Cadillac Escalade
How do we know this is a Cadillac prototype and not a GMC or a Chevy? The shape of there rear dual-exhaust outlets and the wheel design suggest that it’s an Escalade prototype.
This truck is still wearing a lot of camouflage, but our spy photographer (Fitch) says he definitely heard a V8 rumble coming from this SUV. We expect GM’s new 2020 truck-based SUVs to share many of the engine options with the 2019 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 trucks. It means that this SUV is likely using the latest 6.2L V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) and a 10-speed automatic. Will it also have a twin-turbo “Black-wing” V8? We do not have any official information on this yet.
Will GM’s new SUVs also offer the 5.3L V8, the 2.7L Turbo I4, or 3.0L turbo-diesel? It’s definitely possible, but it will depend on the model and trim package.
This prototype also shows that the side mirror is door-mounted. It’s very similar to the new design of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500.
As soon as we learn anything more, we will let you know.
