What will the upcoming Jeep Truck be named? Will it be simply “Jeep Truck”, or Scrambler, or Gladiator? The JeepScramblerForum.com has just published a report that shows an FCA media page screenshot that shows “2020 Jeep Gladiator”. That FCA media page has since been removed.
While this could be a red-herring, an attempt at misdirection from FCA/Jeep, our friends at the JeepScramblerForum seem pretty keen on what might be news. Plus, history has something to do with this name as well.
On the other hand, the Jeep Gladiator (which was introduced in 1962 for the 1963 model year) was a dedicated pickup truck. It had a variety of models that were used in the military and it had a production life that went from the early 1960s to 1988. Sure, the name changed, but most Jeep-folk still know all the models as “Gladiators.”
What do you think? Is the Jeep Gladiator name ready for a comeback? I think so. Hell, I think the name is kinda’ badass!
Which name do you like better?
Lets hope they bring back other Jeepish names like Commando, Commander, Vigilante, Hurricane and Cherokee!
