A TFLtruck reader happened upon this rendering of what could be the 2019 Ram HD 3500.
A little while ago, Innov8 Design Labs posted this rendering of what looks to be the 2019 Ram HD in Limited trim (they referred to it as a 2020 model). Now, after news that the new Ram HD trucks would emerge as 2019 models, we expect official news from Ram sometime soon. After we spotted a prototype testing on the Ike Gauntlet a few weeks ago, we’re definitely curious as to what the new Ram HD 3500 trucks will look like.
When we spied the prototype, we noticed hints of Ram’s crosshair grille in the design. Although, particularly with the new Ram 1500, it’s still evident the brand is gradually moving away from that element in its newer trucks. This particular rendering is a convincing example of the 2019 Ram HD Limited, on the basis of its grille design and the lack of chrome bumpers.
While renderings like these give us a pretty good idea of what the truck will look like, there’s still a blank as to what powertrains the new truck will have. It’s possible Ram will drop the 5.7-liter Hemi from the HD lineup. On the same token, the larger 6.4-liter HEMI and the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel may carry over, with or without some revisions. We’re also still waiting to see what transmission will end up in the 2019 Ram HD lineup.
