There is a new warranty for Nissan trucks. Hot off the press (after the embargo fell) Nissan officially announces “America’s Best Truck Warranty.” This “all-new” warranty for Nissan trucks is 5 Years/100,000 Miles Bumper-to-Bumper, this includes the powertrain. Nissan says it beats competitors’ standard protection warranty programs by two years and 64,000 miles.
“We’re pleased to now offer the same confidence-inspiring protection as our commercial vehicles
for our entire range of 2017 TITAN and TITAN XD full-size pickups,” said Fred Diaz, division vice
president and general manager, North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North
America, Inc. “The new bumper-to-bumper coverage shows customers that Nissan stands behind
the quality of its vehicles – including the ones that are subject to the hardest use.”
Nissan is calling this big push on trucks “Year of the Truck.” This new warranty for Nissan trucks matches all models of Nissan Commercial Vehicles, including the NV Cargo van, NV Passenger van and the NV200 small cargo van. Yes, this new warranty for Nissan trucks will cover all of the 2017 Nissan TITAN Endurance® V8 gas and 2017 TITAN XD Cummins® diesel engines.
“Nissan Commercial Vehicle models have experienced remarkable longevity, with some registering
more than 500,000+ miles of relatively wear-free service**,” added Diaz. “We think that extending
the same coverage to our full-size pickups, whether used for personal or commercial use, is a
game changer in the segment.”
This year alone, TFLtruck has tested the Nissan Titan XD gas vs the Nissan Titan XD gas, visited the Nissan Smyrna Manufacturing and Assembly Plant in Tennessee, attended a press event for the Nissan Titan 1/2 ton truck and we expect to test the Nissan Titan 1/2 ton on the Ike Gauntlet soon. We have yet to gain access to the Nissan Titan XD and 1/2 ton Regular Cab and King Cab, but we expect to within the next few months. The same goes for a new V6 built for the Nissan Titan 1/2 ton and (we suspect) the next Nissan Frontier too.
“TITAN will ultimately be available in a total of three cabs, three bed lengths, three engines, 4×4
and 4×2 drive and S, SV, SL, PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve trim levels – covering about 85%
of the total light pickup marketplace,” said Diaz. “And each and every one of them will be covered
by the new 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty – the best truck warranty in
America.”
I suspect the new warranty for Nissan trucks is a game changer. Look what happened to Hyundai/Kia not long after they introduced their big warranty in the United States. It’s a bold statement and adds piece of mind to their marketability. What do you think?
