The all-new 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks are still many months away from going on sale, but Ford continues to test the prototypes on public highways. We caught this F-350 single-rear-wheel XLT model rolling down a highway in Colorado. This is a crew cab 4×4 with an 8-foot bed. In other words, this is one large HD pickup truck.
It has a low air-dam in the front to improve highway efficiency. It also has noticeably good ground clearance and a rake in the rear suspension. When you compare it to other vehicles around it, this is a tall pickup truck. The single exhaust pipe suggests that it’s running a gasoline V8 engine.
The 2017 Super Duty will offer a choice of a 6.2L gasoline V8 or a 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbo-diesel. The power specifications for the consumer trucks have not yet been announces. Commercial 2017 Super Duty chassis cabs recently received power and Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR).
