The 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit is just around the corner. The action starts on Sunday January 11, 2015. Interestingly, it’s becoming the stage for latest pickup truck concepts and production models.
Here is the current lay of the land in alphabetical order.
Ford F-150 Raptor (Unofficial)
The next generation of the Ford F-150 Raptor is coming. Ford has not released any official details on the timing or the specifications. However, the rumors are building up to a possible Detroit show reveal of the aluminum Raptor.
GMC
TFLtruck has information that GMC will unveil a special edition of a truck currently on sale. As you can tell, there is a good amount of secrecy associated with most of the vehicle reveals. This is all the information that can be communicated at this time.
Nissan Titan
The 2016 Nissan Titan debut is less of a secret. The company has been building up to the 2015 Detroit show reveal for many months. We know that the 5.0L Cummins V8 will be there. We do not know what it actually looks like or most other details.
Toyota Tacoma
The next generation 2016 Toyota Tacoma will officially be unveiled. Toyota has already started to tease us with some images. It will have a lot fresh sheet metal, but the other details are not yet known.
You may be wondering about the following trucks: the next generation Chevy Silverado HD or upgraded Duramax, the 2016 Ford Super Duty with aluminum body construction, and the next generation Honda Ridgeline. TFLtruck has no official information to either confirm or deny if these trucks will be coming to the Detroit show. Suffice it to say that if Ford is showing the next Raptor in Detroit, the Super Duty will likely wait until the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. There are also rumors that Honda will be showing a concept of the next Honda Pilot SUV in Detroit, so the Ridgeline may also have to wait until Chicago or later.
No mater what, 2015 will be a very exciting year for trucks!
