Ram trucks is still showing best YTD growth of 23% and a huge increase of 33% for the month of October as compared to the same month of last year. There is also news that Ram is increasing production and mix of the 3.0L light duty EcoDiesel powered Rams. Fuel efficiency is important for pickup buyers.
As fuel prices remain low, the pickup truck segment continues to see good growth.
Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra continue to make sales gains and together again outsold the F-series in October. Ford’s pickup trucks are holding about even for the month and for the year with a slight decrease in sales. It will be very interesting to see how the all-new aluminum 2015 F-150 will effect the trends.
The other sales stand-out is the Nissan Frontier that shows that smaller pickups still matter. It grew 25.3% in October. Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon had a successful opening month, with 1,491 and 667 trucks sold respectively.
