Time is getting closer for the 2015 Chevy Colorado and 2015 GMC Canyon to start arriving at the dealerships.  They go on sale in the Fall of 2014.  What better time to announce the pricing than now?  The 2WD Chevy Colorado extended-cab starts at $20,120 before the $875 destination charge.  The more upscale 2015 GMC Canyon starts at $20,955 before the $925 delivery fee.

How does it compare to the competition?  The Toyota Tacoma Access Cab starts at $22,885 before $925 destination, and the Nissan Frontier King Cab starts at $20,510 before its $860 delivery.

The Chevy Colorado is priced aggressively and will be the most affordable midsize pickup truck.  The GMC Canyon starts at $835 more than the Chevy cousin, but is still almost two thousand dollars less than the base Tacoma Access Cab.

Both GM pickups will begin with a 2.5L four-cylinder with 195 horsepower and 184 lb-ft.  The upper trims will get a 3.6L V6 good for 302 horsepower and 270 lb-ft.   Actually, these power ratings were communicated by GM in November of 2013.  This most recent press release up-rates each engine a little.  The 2.5L is listed at 200 horsepower and the 3.6L at 305 horses.

Colorado will come in 10 exterior colors, with a choice of five wheel choice across three trim levels: WT, LT, and Z71.  The Chevy’s interior can be ordered from a choice of four cloth and two leather color combination.  The Canyon will be available in eight exterior colors and a choice of two leather colors.  There is no official word on the Canyon Denali at this time.

The 2015 Chevy Colorado Z71 Crew Cab 4WD with a short bed will go for $34,990 (with destination).  And the 2015 GMC Canyon SLT 4×4 shot bed is listed at $37,875.
