Have you ever wished that your new Ram pickup truck had a tailgate seat and a shower? Perhaps, you are a beach going life guard? Ram and Mopar have a solution for you with this Ram 1500 Sun Chaser concept truck for 2013 SEMA show.
Yep, Mopar is bringing a clever “Flip-Up” seatback tailgate accessory. It’s basically a contoured plastic bench with a seatback. This can be handy at the beach, a football game, or anywhere else for that matter. The RamBox bed compartment contains a water tank with a hose and a shower head. This water tank can be clipped to the “surf rack” on top and provides a quick, make shift, gravity fed shower. Tubular side steps and a “bed step” help you reach the rack. The “surf rack” has sliding supports and can hold a long surf board.
This concept pickup is sporting a life guard worthy Vibrance Orange / Brilliant Black two-tone paint job. The truck is sitting higher with a 2-inch lift and new 17×8 beadlock wheel and beefy tires to help the heavy truck float in the sand. There are also Mopar fender flares with manly exposed fastening bolts. The 5.7-liter HEMI sits under the “sport performance hood” and exhales via a Mopar cat-back performance exhaust system.
This is a cool concept that brings together many Mopar truck accessories in a cohesive package. Hopefully, customer will soon be able to order these individual components from Mopar.
