Pickup trucks are expensive these days, but this new 2026 Ram 1500 Express crew cab can be had for under $50,000. Is this the best new pickup truck value? How would you configure your new truck? Let’s dig in.
The truck you see in the video is powered by the optional 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six Hurricane engine. It is rated at 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and a 3.21-to-1 rear axle ratio.
The truck has a roomy crew cab and a 5ft 7in bed. Inside there is a seating for up to six with a 40/20/40 front seat, and 40/60 rear bench split. This Ram 1500 Express comes with an adaptive cruise control system and wireless Apple Carplay or Android Auto.
However, there may be an even better and more useful configuration of a 2026 Ram 1500 truck for less. See below.
Here I configured a Ram 1500 Tradesman crew cab 4×4 that comes with 18-inch wheels (not 20-inch). This should offer even better ride with a taller tire sidewall. This truck can be configured with a 3.55-to-1 anti-spin rear differential, trailer brake controller, and a larger 33-gallon fuel tank.
