What will the 3rd-generation of the Ford F-150 Raptor look like? This leaked design image may give us another clue. This image was originally published at the F150gen14.com forum site. Naturally, this is not official, but it’s believable given some of the recent Ford Raptor prototypes we have seen testing in the wild. This leaked image suggests that the next Raptor will look like you would respect, or very similar to the current Raptor. Is this a surprise? No. The current Raptor is a very successful vehicle for Ford. Why mess with success?
Well, the Raptor is no longer alone. The new Ram TRX will start reaching dealerships very soon. Several other electric high-performance trucks are expected to enter the market within the next 1-2 years as well.
For reference, here are some Raptor prototype images we gathered over the last few months. The stance, wheelbase all appear very similar to the current 2nd-generation Raptor. The details are still obscured.
The leaked design image shows FORD stamped across the grille. It shows the headlights that are much similar to the 2021 Ford F-150 is just starting to arrive at dealerships now. The front bumper and fenders have familiar design elements. Even the cutouts on each side of the front bumper resemble the current Raptor, but with additional pod-style fog lights mounted inside the bumper.
We still don’t officially know what will be under the hood of the next Raptor. One choice will surely be a high-output twin-turbo gas V6/electric hybrid (aka. H.O. Powerboost). The second rumored option is a V8 or a supercharged V8. The most likely candidate is a new supercharged 6.8-liter gas V8 that is closely related to the 7.3-liter V8 in the Super Duty.
