These are the winners and losers in the full-size van market in United States. The annual sales numbers are in, and #vanlife is still proving popular as many manufacturers see big sales growth in 2019.

The Ford Transit is still the top seller, and it grew sales by a significant 11.7% year-over-year. The Chevy Express is in second place with a very strong showing. The GM full-size vans are still based on truck rear-wheel-drive architecture.

The Ram ProMaster closes the year on a very high note with a 21% gain. The Ford E-Series van chassis continue with a slight decrease. The E-Series van chassis are rear-wheel-drive based and have much higher GVWR than their Transit counterparts.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Metris van had a good year with a 9.1% growth. Mercedes began their new Sprinter van deliveries to big fleet customers such as Amazon.

The GMC Savana and Nissan NV round out the segment with very significant sales improvements in 2019.

2020 will be another highly competitive year for these vans. Ford is updating the Transit lineup with new interior, new powertrain choices, and available all-wheel-drive. Will GM, Ram, and others make significant updates to their vans as well?
