News: 2025 Full-Size Truck Sales Redux – Should We Be Happy or Worried?

Here's how big pickup trucks did in 2025 vs 2024

fullsize truck sales report numbers q4 2025

The results are in! 2025 was generally a good and successful year for full-size and heavy-duty pickup truck manufacturers. This market is up by 4.7% over 2024. However, the last (forth) quarter of 2025 is more worrisome. The Q4 2025 number are mostly flat when compared to Q4 of 2024 due to decline in electric pickup truck, Ford F-Series, and Toyota Tundra sales. If you are only looking at the combustion and hybrid pickup truck sales – then the numbers generally look pretty good.

General Motors and Ram are showing significant sales growth in Q4 of 2025. The Ford F-Series sales slow down may have something to do with a delay in 2026 Ford F-150 deliveries. We will have to keep a closer eye on this soon.

EV Full-size Pickup Truck Sales: Q4 2025 & Whole 2025 Year

If you look only at electric pickup trucks, the results are as follows. Once again, Tesla and Rivian has not yet reported 2025 and Q4 vehicle sales. If you consider what happened in Q4 of 2024, then the Tesla Cybertruck did really well in 2024. It’s not going to be the same picture in 2025 as Cybertruck sales are reported to be declining. Also, Tesla and Rivian make it difficult to know exactly how many Cybertrucks or R1Ts they are selling because their reported numbers are lumped in with some other vehicles in their lineup. GMC does the same with the Hummer EV. They combine Hummer truck and SUV together.

We recently tested all four new full-size “half-ton” pickup trucks in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Here is what happened and which truck won each test: the Ike Gauntlet towing, the Denver 100 MPG, and the Drag Race.
