After weeks of grueling real-world tests, we reviewed all of the data and the results. It’s time to announce the TFLtruck’s 2026 Full-size Truck of Year winner and runners up.
The runners up for the 2026 Full-size truck of the year are: the Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX, the Ram 1500 Hurricane, and the GMC Sierra 1500 V8.
The top honor goes to the Ford F-150 Powerboost – TFLtruck’s 2026 Full-size Truck of the Year.
Here is what happened
Each one of these pickup trucks brings many strengths. The Toyota Tundra has the most horsepower and torque in this group. This is evident during the initial launch during our performance testing, but the Ram 1500 Hurricane and Ford F-150 Powerboost ultimately record quicker 0-60 mph and 1/4-mile times. The F-150 is the quickest of this group.
We are pleasantly surprised by the efficient performance of each truck during our MPG testing on the Denver 100 loop. The Ram’s aggressive towing package prevents it from showing a high result. GMC’s 6.2L V8, Toyota’s Hybrid, and Ford’s Hybrid are increasingly more efficient. The F-150 is the most efficient.
Results get most interesting during the Ike Gauntlettm – the world’s toughest towing test. Each pickup truck has their own positives and negatives. In the end, we voted the GMC Sierra 1500 V8 as the winner of the towing competition as it performed the best on the downhill portion of the test with fewest brake applications.
After adding up all of the points, the Ford F-150 Powerboost is TFLtruck’s 2026 Full-size Truck of the Year. Please join Kase and I in the video below for all of the detailed thoughts, data, and discussion.
