Here is a preview of what the next generation of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will look like. Mercedes calls it the “BOuLDER” or a bolder design. We can see a more truck-like boxy shape. Here’s everything we know so far about it. Let’s dig in!

Mercedes-Benz is working on a new full-size commercial van platform. The Sprinter van is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Mercedes says they sold over five million Sprinter vans around the world to date. They are looking to build on that success.

Just like the current Sprinter van, the next-generation vehicle will offer internal combustion and electric variants. Mercedes is not ready to provide specifics yet. It will be a global vehicle, so it may have different engines and motors to various markets around the globe. The current Sprinter van lineup for North America is built in South Carolina at the Charleston Assembly Plant.

Mercedes-Benz shows us a design sculpture that reveals some but not all elements of the new design. The hood line appears to be more horizontal as it protrudes a bit further than on current models. The rest of the van sculpture is very upright and large – as it should be to maximize the cargo space on the inside.

We are eager to learn much more about the upcoming Sprinter van soon!

Here is a closer look at a current Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that has been converted into a “van life” camper.
