People say that new turbocharged engines are no good. They don’t last. This 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel 4×4 truck was in a rental fleet. It’s listed as a 1-owner vehicle because it was owned by one rental company. We don’t know how many people drove this truck nearly 50,000 miles over the last year. However, we can look inside and underneath this truck to see how it held up.
This truck started its life in Wisconsin. It did see a winter in that region. It shows no significant corrosion underneath and minimal stone chips on the front. The under body skid plates on this Rebel 4×4 show no scratches or marks. It’s likely that somebody simply drove this on the highway as a commuter.
The bed is no bed lined and it shows many scratches and marks. If you sprayed a rust preventer and a bed liner on it, you would never know it was scratched before.
The engine is a new 3.0-liter twin-turbo I6 with a rating of 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Taking this truck on a test drive – it is smooth and feel brand new. The driver seat shows no signs of wear. It’s impressive, considering somebody put about three years of use on this truck in about one year.
The suspension feels tights and the transmission shifts quickly and smoothly. These are all good signs for these latest Ram 1500 trucks.
