We already know that the 2026 Ram 1500 is bringing back the 5.7L HEMI V8. What we didn’t know is that you can also get a Ram-approved Supercharger bolted on top of this new engine. TFLtruck’s Tommy & Kase got the inside scoop and all the information on this. Let’s dig in!
It has been more common to talk about a supercharged V8 in a Ford or GM street truck. Many Ram 1500 truck owners have supercharged their 5.7L V8 with a system from ProCharger, Whipple, or a Hellcat-based supercharger. Now, Ram is appearing to be getting into the game to provide an integrated emissions-compliant solution for those who want more power in their light-duty pickup truck. Obviously, the supercharged Hellcat Ram TRX is another available option, but the TRX is currently discontinued.
Here’s the scoop. The 5.7L HEMI V8 eTorque engine is coming back for the 2026 model year. These Ram 1500 trucks can be ordered now, and they should start arriving at dealerships within the next few weeks or months. This supercharger is an addition to the V8 eTorque system. This is interesting because it combines the mild electric hybrid system with supercharged V8 power. Ram says the total supercharged output is around 600 horsepower. This is way more power than the base 395 hp V8, but why not produce 700 or more? We do not have an answer on this yet, but we are guessing it has something to do with the supercharged V8 Ram TRX coming back for 2026 as well. The TRX is expected to have around 702 horsepower, so you will have this option.

Ford currently provides a Whipple supercharger for their 5.0L Coyote V8 F-150 engines. This is done via their Ford Performance division. It’s backed by a warranty and can be installed at your local Ford dealership. This increases the 5.0L V8’s power from 400 hp to 700 hp.
GM and Chevy Performance offers a wide selection of crate engines for their performance pickup trucks and cars. There is currently no factory-backed pickup truck V8 supercharger that we are aware of.
Toyota used to warranty Magnuson superchargers for their Toyota Tacoma V6 and Tundra V8 pickup trucks. The last factory-backed Tundra supercharger was installed on the 2014 Tundra models.
