Video: Let’s Put the 2025 GMC Sierra HD Ultimate Overland Build to the Test in the Rocky Mountains!

Crawling rocks and fitting between trees!

2025 gmc sierra hd duramax overland expo ultimate build

Let’s take this ultimate heavy-duty 2025 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV overland truck on a Rocky Mountain Tombstone Hill trail and see what it’s like to live with this giant beast on a daily basis. It weighs nearly 10,000 lbs with the camper, but it’s surprisingly quick and relatively efficient. Let’s dig in!

Oh yea… This truck & camper can be yours! It goes on sale at Bring a Trailer this fall (October or November) with proceeds to benefit the Overland Expo Foundation. Please stay tuned. Before that, it’s coming to the remaining two Overland Expo shows in Colorado and Virginia.

This truck is breaking some news. It has some additional parts from AEV (American Expedition Vehicles) that were not available before. This truck has a 37-inch tire clearance kit, and it’s rolling on 37×13.5 inch all-terrain tires. It has an AEV Snorkel (raised air intake) that is available for Silverado HD and Sierra HD trucks. It also has a prototype front light bar that incorporates the stock front camera & camera washer system.

The truck did not put a wheel wrong while climbing up and down some of the obstacles on the Tombstone Trail near Boulder, Colorado. The truck has a heavy-duty OEV (Overland Explorer Vehicle) camper on top. This combination is pretty heavy because it has batteries, solar panels, inverter, and additional gear inside.

I did have a little bit of trouble fitting this big truck between two trees (two tree squeeze). No worries, I was able to back up and still get to the beautiful overlook using a bypass.

The whole package you see there has around $175,000 all together. Please join me in the video below.
