Ram just announced the return of the 5.7L HEMI V8 to their 2026 Ram 1500 production truck lineup several days ago. Now, they officially announce their return to the NASCAR truck series. It’s been 13 years since Ram participated in this racing series. They are celebrating the return with the “donut trailer”. What is the donut trailer? All details are here.

The Donut Trailer

This is not a trailer where you get tasty sugary treats. It’s a hydraulically opening trailer with just enough space for a Ram NASCAR truck series race truck to continuously do donuts with massive tire burnouts. It’s a feast for the eyes and ears.

The Race Truck

The concept race truck you see here is a fully functioning racing vehicle, according to Ram. It was build and designed according to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regulations. Ram says the styling of the racing truck draws inspiration from the Ram 1500 Warlock, Rebel, and RHO. The heart of the racing truck is a naturally aspirated race-spec V8 engine. Ram says this engine revs to over 9,000 rpm.

According to Ram, around 40% of NASCAR fans own a pickup truck. This helped Ram make the decision to return to racing, which is an expensive proposition. Ram has a plan to expand the popularity of this racing series, and expand popularity of the Ram brand and Ram trucks.

Ram plans to start racing at the beginning of the 2026 season. Ram did not yet specify how many trucks it will be entering into the series. There are opportunities for four factory-backed racing trucks, with additional Ram trucks that are racing with affiliate teams.
