Dodge recently announced a continuation and an expansion of the 2026 Dodge Durango SUV lineup with 5.7L HEMI V8 and 6.2L supercharged Hellcat V8 models. What about the Ram trucks? Will these engines return to the Ram 1500 lineup as well? Let’s look at the details.
The official information we have so far comes from Dodge. You can currently purchase a new 2025 Dodge Durango with a 360 horsepower 5.7L HEMI V8 or a supercharged 710 horsepower 6.2L Hellcat V8. For the 2026 model year, Dodge is introducing a new Durango R/T Blacktop Redline package.
Order books for these V8-powered R/T Durango starts this month (June 2025). These 2026 models should arrive at dealerships in Q3 of 2025 with a starting price of $49,995 + $1,995 destination charge for a total starting price of $51,990. Dodge says that more details and pricing about the 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat will be available in Q3 2025. We do not have pricing available at this time.
The Durango HEMI V8 engine are now being produced at the Dundee Engine Plant in Michigan. This begs a question. Will these V8 engines return to the Ram 1500 lineup? What about the SRT version of the 6.4L HEMI V8? What about a V8-powered 2026 Ram TRX?
Ford and GM still offer their full-size pickup trucks with optional V8 engines. GM recently invested into the next generation of the small-block V8 engines for their trucks and full-size SUVs. Ford is still offering the 5.0L V8 and the supercharged 5.2L V8 in their F-150 trucks.
We hope to learn more details from Ram on June 8th, 2025. However, we do not have any official hints at this time.
