After using truck campers, camping trailers, and roof top tents for over 20 years, I have reviewed and camped in dozens of various campers. This Lifestyle Campers Fusionn by XGRiD Campers got my attention right away. Lifestyle Campers has been in business since 2002. This is an Australian company that offers several models and sizes of off-road camping trailers. Let’s dig in and check out the new Fusionn trailer.
The Fusionn trailer can sleep up to four people (two adults plus two kids). It includes heating and air-conditioning for four season capability. It has solar panels and batteries on board for extended off-grid ability. It’s rolling on 33-inch all-terrain tires, height-adjustable independent air suspension, a flat bottom, and rock sliders all around the lower perimeter.
This trailer has an electric pop top that converts a relative compact 21-foot trailer into a fairly spacious living space with a residential queen-size mattress and small bunkbed that converts into a dinette. There is also a place for a compost toilet, bathroom sink, and a shower. The trailer has a capacity to carry up to 63 gallons of fresh water. The water tanks and all plumbing is inside the body of the trailer. There are two water outlets on the outside, an enclosed outdoor kitchen sink and an outdoor shower head. If you take care of these two water outlets, the rest of the plumbing can survive below freezing temperatures. This is thanks to a diesel-powered water heater and interior cabin heater.
There is also a temperature controlled lithium battery bank on board. The trailer we have here has around 600 aH of battery capacity. The solar panels on the roof and an ability to charge from the tow vehicle can allow you to live off grid for an extended period of time. It does depend on the resources you need. How much air conditioning you require, etc.
Speaking of living off grid, this trailer is compact enough that it can be towed behind some midsize pickup trucks, some SUVs, and all full-size pickup trucks/SUVs. It has a dry weight of around 4,700 lbs and a fully loaded weight of close to 6,200 lbs. A standard Ford Ranger or a Chevy Colorado with a towing package is rated between 7,500-7,700 lbs of towing capacity.
When packed up, this trailer is close to 21 feet long and 7.5 feet tall. It’s small and narrow enough to where you can pull it over some relatedly narrow and tight mountain or forest trails. You probably don’t want to do some challenging off-roading with a trailer, but you can take a trailer like pretty far off the beaten path.
XGRiD Campers is an importer/dealer with locations in Las Vegas, Nevada and Knoxville, Tennessee. Please join us in the video below for all of the details and to see the new Fusionn trailer go down and up some off-road obstacles at the TFL Tumbleweed Ranch inside the onX Off-road Andre’s Pit.
