This episode of TFL Talkin’ Trucks podcast is all about customized and modified Biggest and Baddest trucks at the SEMA 2024 show is Las Vegas, NV. Roman and I walk around one of the halls of the show to see the latest production pickup trucks and wildest creations. Please join us!
Mainstream OEMs come to the SEMA show to display the latest accessories, new optional equipment, crate engines, and wild custom vehicles. We start this episode at the Ford Performance booth. The truck we relate most to is the new Ford F-150 ORV package. It’s based on a more basic F-150 XLT crew cab 4×4. The package includes a suspension leveling kit, off-road lights, Raptor side steps, skid plates, and a bed accessory system for securing tools and/or bicycles.
Ford will also sell you a 612-hp Megazilla gas V8 crate engine if you choose. If that is not enough, then you can also get a supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 with close to 900 horsepower.
If Ford is not your brand, Toyota, Nissan, and Ram/Mopar have very similar accessory packages and crate engine programs. The idea is still to make your pickup truck (Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, Nissan Frontier, or Ram RHO) a bit more capable and tough with a customized appearance as well.
What really caught our attention was a Ford F-550 recovery truck is rolling on giant military-spec tires and is equipped with nine (9) WARN winches. Whoa!
Nissan brought a supercharged Frontier drift truck and another Frontier Tailgater concept. The Tailgate has a lot of equipment in the bed, including a large TV to watch your favorite sports game while you cook and entertain. In fact, a tail gate truck is a theme at this year’s SEMA show. Toyota brought a Tundra Hybrid tail gate concept truck that is equipped with five 55-inch TV screens.
Here is a closer look to what Toyota brought to the show.
