Video: We Really Pissed Off the Crowd When We Brought a Tesla Cybertruck to a Tractor Pull!

We compare it to our Ram Cummins Diesel.

When Elon Musk and Tesla introduced the production Cybertruck, they said that it’s a better truck than other pickup trucks and they showed it beating several pickup trucks at a tractor pull. We wanted to experience this for ourselves and test Elon’s theory. This is why we took our Tesla Cybertruck to a local NSPA (National Sled Pullers Association) event along with our Ram HD Cummins Diesel.

Roman and I are nervous because neither one of us has ever pulled an official sled before. The sled weighs around 33,000 lbs and it is a complicated piece of machinery with a sliding box/weight and a lowering steel plate below. The goal is pull this sled 300 feet (or more) down a dirt track. Participating vehicles are separated into classed based on engine displacement, type of fuel, 2WD or 4WD, and specialty modification. Our Cybertruck and the Ram HD Trail Hound off-road truck don’t really fit into any category, so we did “demo” runs in front of the crowd. Actually, we wanted to do our runs before the main event to avoid our first-time ridicule, but it was not meant to be. We are pulling the sled in front of the big crowd in Sterling Colorado.

The Cybertruck is a dual-motor Foundation Series truck with about 600 horsepower. The 2022 Ram HD Cummins Diesel started life as a crew cab 4×4 Big Horn. It’s now called “Trail Hound”. It has all stock power train and drive train, but it has a 3-inch BDS lift, FOX shocks, 37-inch all-terrain tires, and AEV bumpers and winch.

The Cybertruck weighs in at around 7,000 lbs with me inside. The Ram HD Trail Hound weighs in at 8,800 lbs with Roman behind the wheel. This is not the first time that we put the Cybertruck and Trail Hound head to head. We did it last time when we pulled two identical ATC toy-hauler camping trailers.

Let’s Go! Join our video below for all the fun. Spoiler Alert: it did not go very good for me in the Cybertruck.
