Our friend Dan just recently rolled over 1 Million miles in his Freightliner semi truck. He sent me a quick video clip about it. You ask us about long term reviews, well this update is over seven years in the making. Dan is a professional truck driver, and it took him just over seven years to put 1 Million miles on a brand new semi truck.

Dan is an owner-operator. He put this Freightliner truck on the road on Feb 14, 2017. He crossed the 1 Million mile mark on Apr 5, 2024. Dan reports that he averaged about 7.09 MPG over the life of this truck while hauling heavy trailers (mostly in the Eastern U.S.) This means that he used over 141,000 gallons of diesel fuel to haul goods, food, and machinery over this time.

Dan usually drives at speeds that are lower than the interstate speed limits. This way he uses less fuel. Diesel fuel got to be very expensive over the years. His ownership included some turbocharger work, engine work, many tire changes, and other maintenance.

Still, his truck looks great!

Here is the first time Dan and I met. Check out the video below from over five years ago.
