Here is a closer look at each brand separately.

GM is still controlling the segment in the United States, but it saw an overall -14.2% decrease in sales. This may be a sign that the company is about to switch over to an updated 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban lineup, but we will be watching this space very carefully. We already know what the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban look like.

Here is a closer look at the Ford and Lincoln SUVs. The Expedition had a very successful first quarter. It’s getting ever so close to matching Chevy Tahoe sales. The Navigator sales declined. Ford says that the updated 2025 Expedition and 2025 Navigator are coming later this year, but these have not yet been shown.

The big Jeep SUVs sales are on fire this quarter. Jeep more than doubled their Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer sales in Q1. These are still in third place, but Jeep is now much closer to Ford on popularity of their big body-on-frame family haulers.

Toyota and Lexus truck-based SUVs take 4th place away from Nissan. The Sequoia and the LX600 see big sales increases and easily take fourth place.

It’s not looking good for Nissan and Infiniti SUVs. The sales are down significantly and the Armada and QX80 are now in fifth place. This could change soon as an all-new 2025 Infiniti QX80 was recently shown at the 2024 New York Auto Show. The new Armada should be shown a little later this year. Both should be available for sale by the end of the year.
