The all-new 2024 Ford Ranger is finally shipping to dealers. I compare one of the cheapest and most expensive new Ranger trucks to see what you get for your money. Which feature are you getting in the new Lariat truck or which features you may be missing in the base Ranger STX.
Ford is no longer offering a Ranger XL with steel wheels and basic equipment. The range starts with an STX package that is based on the XL trim level. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and a 10-inch center infotainment screen. A 2024 Ranger STX 4×4 starts at $37,910. This is the basis for the blue truck you see in this comparison.
The top of the range is the Lariat trim, if you ignore the Ranger Raptor for the purposes of this comparison. The Ranger Lariat 4×4 FX4 you see here has a sticker price that is approaching $52,000. These two trucks have the same powertrain. It’s the returning 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
