Take a look at this! Could this be the renewed 2025 Ram TRX with a twin-turbo H.O. I6 Hurricane engine? Several Ram TRX prototypes have recently been spotted on public roads in Michigan. Wasn’t the Ram TRX recently discontinued? Here is everything we know so far.
Thanks to our friends at @theraptorconnection for letting us use the prototype image.
2025 Ram TRX
As we reported several weeks ago, Ram has officially announced the end of production for the V8-powered Ram TRX. Production of these 2024 model-year trucks ends at the end of this calendar year. However, Ram specifically said, “But it’s not the end of TRX’s story.“
If you haven’t already, take a look at all of the details about the current 2024 Ram TRX Final Edition.
It appears that the continuation of the Ram TRX story has to do with a new power plant. The supercharged 6.2L Hellcat V8 may be discontinued, but Ram has another engine in mind. All rumors currently point to the twin-turbocharged 3.0L Hurricane I6 engine with at least 510 horsepower. The current TRX has a V8 growl and 702 horsepower. How will the new 2025 TRX measure up? Ram may surprise us in several ways, including a gas/electric hybrid system with a LOT OF power and torque. If Ram can keep the new TRX’s curb weight under control and deliver great power – then this will make many new owners happy.
Hopefully, Ram has something up their sleeve in terms of exhaust system sound. Ram owners are used to HEMI V8 engine sound. Can the new turbocharged six-cylinder deliver a similar experience? We will have to wait and see… More 2025 Ram 1500 and Ram TRX news should be just around the corner.
Please stay tuned.
