Chevrolet announces more information about the upcoming 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT model. The company started shipping well-optioned 4WT model to fleet customers already. The Silverado EV 4WT models have the largest battery pack that provides up to 450 miles of range. The 3WT offers a slightly smaller battery pack, but larger towing and payload numbers! Here is everything we know so far.
All information you see here is according to GMEnvolve.com.
As you can see, the 3WT payload increases by 350 lbs to 1,750 lbs. The maximum towing rating goes up by 2,500 lbs to 12,500 lbs. Chevrolet does not state their battery capacities, but based on an average efficiency of 2 miles per kWh. We can roughly estimate that the 3WT has about 27 kWh less capacity than the estimated 212 kWh pack in the 4WT. This smaller battery gives the 3WT version of the truck an EPA-estimated 393 miles of range.
Since the smaller battery in 3WT weighs less, it is able to give back more carrying and towing capacity to the owner.
The Silverado EV 4WT sticker price starts at $77,905 + $1,895 destination charge = $79,800.
The Silverado EV 3WT sticker price starts at $72,905 + $1,895 destination charge = $74,800.
There will be less expensive versions of the Silverado EV in the future. Chevrolet promised a version of this truck that tows up to 20,000 lbs. Also, there will be a Silverado EV RST edition and an EV Trail Boss off-road pickup truck as well.
