The 2024 Ford Ranger gets a price hike from the outgoing truck, but how does it stack up to its rivals?
It’s been months in the making, but the Blue Oval finally revealed the U.S.-spec version of its updated midsize truck Wednesday. While you can typically expect at least a few hundred dollars tacked onto the MSRP with any update, this one carries a heftier premium than that. In fact, looking at an apples-to-apples comparison with the 2023 Ranger SuperCrew 4×2, the baseline price increases by a substantial $3,080.
You may look at that and say “ouch”, but how does that compare to the competition? On the whole, buying a new truck is just an expensive prospect these days, no matter which brand you decide to put in your driveway. When it comes to the 2024 Ford Ranger’s price walk…you may just be surprised. Or maybe not — that’s the fun!
A quick note: We’re looking at the 2024 Ford Ranger against the corresponding 2023 models, including the Toyota Tacoma. There is a new truck on the way, of course, but since we don’t have pricing information for that one yet, we’re going off the current generation.

What about the new Ranger Raptor?
At the other end of the price spectrum, we have the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor. Packing a 405-horsepower 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, it definitely throws down the power gauntlet against the competition. Nevertheless, the Raptor faces stiffer competition than ever in the midsize segment, and it’s hardly surprising that Ford’s offering is nearer the top of the price spectrum. Again, these prices include destination:
