The new 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition is the most powerful production Tahoe ever, thanks to the Chevrolet performance air intake and exhaust system. This 6.2L V8 Tahoe is rated at 433 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. Under the best conditions, Chevy claims a 5.78 second 0-60 MPH acceleration and a top speed of 124 MPH. However, how does it do when maxed out with a heavy trailer on the world’s toughest towing test?

The Performance Edition package also comes with specially tuned suspension, very large and capable performance brakes, and high-performance tires (among other updates). It is rated to tow up to 7,600 lbs and this is what we are towing today on the Ike Gauntlettm.
The Ike Gauntlettm is the world’s toughest towing test because it’s an 8-mile stretch of I-70 with a 7% grade that leads all the way up to the Continental Divide at over 11,158 feet above sea level.
