The new Ram HD 5500 4×4 pickup truck is the first of its kind. It’s based on the Ram HD 5500 chassis cab that anybody can buy, but this one is equipped with an adjustable Liquid Spring smart suspension, an 8-foot pickup bed, and a towing capacity of over 30,000 lbs. Here are all the details.
This Ram 5500 pickup truck is built by Elevation Off Grid in Colorado. This is a low-volume production truck that you can order for yourself. The truck you see here is based on the most luxurious Limited trim level. It includes Ram’s premium interior, 360-degree camera system, and much more. This chassis cab with a 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel I6 engine has a factory price that is approaching $90,000.
Elevation Off Grid goes to work to give the truck the height-adjustable Liquid Spring suspension, “super single” wheels, and 42-inch all-terrain tires. The truck gets customized front fenders, a front bumper with a winch, a customized 8-foot bed that had to be stretched just a little to match the chassis cab wheelbase, and a customized rear bumper.
