The price of the upcoming 2024 Chevy Silverado EV work truck is confirmed to start at $74,800. Wait, you may have expected it to start near the initially announced $40,000. Well, the less expensive versions of the truck are coming later, but the first electric fleet trucks will start near $75K! Here are all the details.
We initially published this Silverado EV Price & Specs report a few days ago when the GM Fleet Order Guide for the 2024 Silverado EV became available. Now, we have a confirmation of the starting price from a Chevrolet dealership and an official statement from the Chevrolet PR department.
The 2024 Silverado EV truck will only be available to fleet buyers at first in 3WT and 4WT trim levels. While some specs are still unknown, these work truck trims will have larger battery packs and many options. In other words, the more fancy work trucks are launching first.
Here is what a Chevrolet spokesperson had to say on this matter:
“The price schedule that was published Monday (Nov 7, 2022) is for initial fleet models only. A more affordable model for fleet and retail is still part of the plan. We have no further news to announce today regarding pricing.“
The Silverado EV 3WT price starts at $74,800 (including the $1,895 destination fee). The more optioned 4WT model will start at $79,800 (including the destination fee). We do not know for sure yet, but we expect these work trucks to have the large battery pack that is also available in the GMC Hummer EV truck. It would put the battery capacity at around 212 kWh and the driving range at 400 miles or more.
