What could be most awesome and incredibly terrible at the same time? We think it’s this SUV we recently purchased for an upcoming video series – “Go Big!” It is a 2000 Ford Excursion 4×4. Yep, one of the biggest, roomiest, and heaviest SUVs ever to roll on earth.
The Excursion is built on a Ford Super Duty chassis. This bad boy could seat up to nine people (when equipped with a front bench seat). It can tow up to 10,000 lbs when equipped with a diesel, but ours is packing a 6.8-liter gasoline V10 under the hood. Yes, it has a heavy truck (or a Ford motorhome V10 engine) and the fuel economy to match it. We are getting close to 10 MPG on a good day.
We purchased it for $8,000. It is NOT in perfect condition. It ended up being a great deal, considering that many other Excursions go for $15,000, $20,000, or more.
In this very detailed video, Tommy shows off our newest purchase and drives it at our Tumbleweed Ranch.
