An all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone luxury truck (VIN 001) sells at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale for charity at $700,000.
All proceeds of this sale go to benefit the athletes via the Toyota U.S. Paralympics Fund. It’s powered by a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 I-Force MAX Hybrid power plant with 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque that is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Tundra Capstone trim is all-new for the 2022 model year.
This is the most luxurious Tundra ever, as it slots into the lineup above the Tundra 1794 edition. The Capstone is rolling on 22-inch wheels (a first for Tundra). On the inside, the seats and many other surfaces are wrapped in Semi-aniline top-quality leather. This is the same grade of leather that is used in Lexus vehicles. This may very well be the Lexus of pickup trucks.
Here is my first in-person walkaround of the new Tundra Capstone. 2022 Toyota Tundra hybrid pricing and fuel economy numbers will be announced next week (Feb 1, 2022). We will have a Tundra Capstone trailer towing review, and a new Tundra TRD Pro off-road review coming next week as well.
