It’s finally here! Ford publishes the latest 2022 Ford Ranger online configurator. It includes all the latest trim levels and optional packages, such as the Ranger Splash. The price goes up a bit as well for the 2022 model year. Here are all the details.
2022 Ford Ranger
While this is not the all-new generation of the Ford Ranger that we are anticipating for the 2023 model year, it still offers a lot of variety for those looking for a capable and customizable midsize pickup truck. The 2022 Ford Ranger starting price goes up by $430 from $25,070 to $25,500 for a Ranger XL extended cab 2WD. The most affordable new Ranger XL 4×4 will have an MSRP of over $31,000.
The 2022 Ranger powertrain remains unchanged. It’s a 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This is the only power plant and transmission available in the U.S.-spec Ranger.
The 2022 Ranger Splash package costs $600 and it can be had with Rangler XLT or Lariat trim levels. A Ranger XLT crew cab 4×4 with the Splash appearance package has an MSRP of around $39,000.
If you want to spice up your Ranger 4×4, the Ford Performance division offers many choices. This includes tough bumpers, FOX suspension-leveling kits, and much more.
The priciest 2022 Ranger you can configure is a Lariat trim level crew cab 4×4 with the Tremor off-road package. One of these will have an MSRP of close to $49,000. Naturally, if you want the Ford Performance bumpers and/or sports bar with additional off-road lights – this will put the price over $50,000.
We hope to test a 2022 Ford Ranger very soon. In the meantime, here is our friend’s (Dan’s) Ford Ranger and his story about his cross-country towing trip.
