There is an open and yet unresolved recall that may delay deliveries of the new 3rd-generation Ford Raptor and some other F-150 pickup trucks. This recall has an NHTSA.gov Number: 21V986.
The problem has to do with “underbody thermal-acoustic insulators” that may loosen and come in contact with the aluminum driveshaft. This presents a driveability and a safety risk, although no accidents or injuries have been reported due to this.
The total number of trucks affected by this issue is currently unknown. It’s worth checking with your dealer if you are waiting for a new Ford Raptor delivery. If your truck is affected by this problem, you should receive a notification about it in the near future.
