The very first production 2022 GMC Hummer EV truck rolls off the production line. This one brings $2.5 Million to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation charity, an organization established to honor the memory of Sept. 11 first responder Stephen Siller and support injured veterans and families of deceased first responders.

This marks a very important milestone for Factory ZERO in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. GMC promised to deliver the first Hummer electric vehicles by year’s end, and this is the first one. The company has not said how many other GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 vehicles they plan to build or deliver this year. We also do not know the exact production volume the company is planning for the special Edition 1 and other versions of the Hummer truck and SUV.

The Edition 1 version of the pickup truck offers up to 1,000 horsepower, 3.0 seconds 0-60 MPH acceleration, advanced 4WD system, air suspension, four-wheel steering, and a 329-mile EPA-estimated driving range.

GMC is technically not the first company to deliver a production all-electric pickup truck. Rivian delivered a first batch of production R1T pickup trucks earlier this year, although most of them went to company employees.

Here are the other images the company has shared.
