The updated 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 lineup is here! The new Sierra trucks get a new front-end design, new interiors, and two new models. GMC introduces the new GMC Sierra AT4X off-road and Denali Ultimate luxury trucks.
GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate
You may have seen an Ultimate option package for the current Sierra Denali trucks. This optional package has now graduated to its own top-of-the-line Denali Ultimate model. This model gets unique front-end and interior design and treatment. Under the hood engine lineup stays the same. The premium engines include the 6.2L gas V8 and the 3.0L I6 turbo-diesel. Both of these engines are still mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Don’t worry, the standard Denali trim is still there if you don’t want everything included in the new Ultimate trim level.
GMC Sierra AT4X
The new AT4X truck takes the AT4 off-road equipment to the next level with Multimatic DSSV spool-valve shocks and special springs that increase articulation front and rear. The ground clearance is about the same as the AT4 model, which is around 10.8 inches. The AT4X includes selectable front and rear lockers, and one pedal off-road driving mode.
Under the hood is the tried and true 6.2L gas V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. If you were expecting a supercharged V8 engine with extra power or a wide-body truck with long-travel suspension – this is not it.
The AT4X also offers an ultra-luxurious interior that is unique to it but uses the new redesigned interior and layout as the new Denali Ultimate.
The redesigned new trucks go on sale in Q1 of 2022. The pricing for the refreshed GMC Sierra 1500 Pro (work truck) starts at $32,495 (including destination charges).
2022 Sierra SLE starts at $43,895, Sierra Elevation starts at $45,495, Sierra SLT starts at $50,895, Sierra AT4 starts at $60,995, Sierra Denali starts at $61,295, Sierra AT4X starts at $74,995, and the Sierra Denali Ultimate has an all-in price of $80,395.
