The production 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2 made its world debut just about two weeks ago. Now, Chevrolet shows a race version of the new ZR2 truck exercising in the desert – preparing for the Best In The Desert race this weekend.
Chevrolet and Chad Hall’s off-road racing team have been testing and proving out many of the ZR2’s components in desert racing since 2019. The previous race truck was wearing a Trail Boss exterior, but DSSV spool-valve shocks, 6.2L V8, 10-speed automatic transmission, transfer case, front and rear differentials underneath.
Now, the new 2022 race truck is wearing production Silverado ZR2 exterior components such as the latest grille, lights, and hood. The King Shocks Laughlin Desert Classic is happening this weekend.
