Video: No Rivian For You: Here’s Why We’re NOT Reviewing The Rivian R1T!

2022 rivian r1t

We generally don’t make posts like this, but we have received MANY messages from you guys asking us to review and show the new 2022 Rivian R1T electric pickup truck. We wanted to share what’s going on. As you may know, we have followed the Rivian company and its vehicles ever since its world debut.

Here is one of our first stories about the Rivian company from November 2018.

Next, we had a chance to do a full walkaround of the R1T truck at the New York Auto Show 2019. Take a look at the video below. This attracted over 900,000 viewers.

Next up, we attended a Rivian future owner event in Colorado nearly two years ago, did a full walkaround of the Rivian R1S SUV, and interviewed the CEO of the company – RJ Scaringe.

Over the last three years, we published dozens of videos and written articles about the R1T and R1S – just like we do with any other new pickup truck or SUV.

It came to us as a surprise when Rivian did not respond to us in the recent weeks about requests to show their latest R1T trucks and test drive them. It was an even bigger shock when Rivian organized a media drive around Breckenridge, Colorado (our backyard), and did not invite us.

Naturally, Rivian can and should do anything and everything that they see fit to move their brand and their vehicles forward. We simply want to apologize to you – our viewers and readers. We will not be able to show or review a new Rivian R1T or Rivian R1S unless one of you allows us to drive your Rivian truck or we purchase one in the future. This may take weeks, months, or years.

If you have a Rivian pickup truck or any other interesting brand new or classic truck, please email us at ask@tfltruck.com to set up a video opportunity. We are based in Boulder, CO. We are also looking to review a new Ford F-150 Tremor pickup truck among others.
