On this episode of ‘No Payment Needed – To Hell and Back’, we take our three old cheap trucks to a professional mechanic to figure out if we bought good trucks or total disasters. Which one of us bought the best truck for under $5,000? Let’s find out!
This video series is brought to you by our friends at RealTruck.com – this is the place where you can find truck accessories, replacement parts, and new tires for your truck. We also use our extra budget to make our trucks fresher and more off-road capable. After all, we have to drive these trucks from Colorado to Utah and put them to the real test on the ‘Hell’s Revenge’ trail.
Our friend Toby at ‘German Auto‘ in Boulder, CO puts all three trucks on a lift and gives them a thorough inspection. Toby checks the frames, body, axles, suspension, engine, and transmission. Toby looks for leaks and brake condition.
The 1998 Chevy K1500 was purchased for $3,200. The 2004 Ford F-150 cost $3,700. The 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 blew the budget at $5,000. Which truck does Toby pick as the best buy among these three?
Spoiler Alert: Although the F-150 has the most miles, it’s Toby’s pick as the best of these three.
