Here is all of the official information about the 2022 Ford Super Duty truck lineup. Ford is adding several new trim and color combinations. The 2022 heavy-duty trucks retain all of the same engine options and towing ratings. The big news for the 2022 model year is the updated interior. Check it out!
The 2022 Ford F-250 and F-350 truck can now be optioned with three distinct infotainment screens and options. The base XL model has a 4.2-inch screen with the SYNC3 interface. You can then step up to an 8-inch display with SYNC3. Finally, you can option the truck with a new 12-inch infotainment screen with the latest SYNC4 system and update center dash design.
If you are wondering whether the 2022 Super Duty will be offered with new, different, or updated engine options – the powertrain options remain unchanged. The base engine is still the 6.2-liter gas V8. Next up is the 7.3-liter gas V8 with the same 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The top of the line engine is still the turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel V8 with 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque.
The towing ratings remains unchanged as well. If you configure the 2022 Super Duty correctly, you can get up to 37,000 lbs of maximum gooseneck trailer towing capacity. The 5th-wheel towing capacity remains at 32,500 lbs, and conventional bumper/hitch towing maxes out at 24,200 lbs. The maximum payload capacity stands at a class-leading 7,850 lbs.
The 2022 Super Duty trucks can now be configured in a Lariat trim level with a monochromatic Sport package. The popular Black Appearance Package is now offered on the XLT trim level.
Pricing is not yet available, but the new 2022 Ford Super Duty will go on sale in the summer of 2021. The XLT Black Appearance Package will be a later introduction in the fall 2021.
