In this fun episode of Dude, I love (or hate) my ride – the tiny Chevy Corsa pickup.
Our friend Adolfo sent us this entertaining video of his used, $600 tiny Chevy Corsa pickup – and we want one! Built by former GM partner Opel since 1982, the Corsa comes in many flavors. The Corsa is a super-mini runabout that has spawned a hatchback, wagon, sedan, convertible, panel-van, AND a pickup variant.

This model is an early 90’s model with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 102 horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque. It’s hooked up to a five-speed manual transmission that powers the front wheels. The numbers seem low, remember: this little guy is smaller than a Honda Fit and it weighs about a ton. Despite its bantam weight and low power figures, it is rated to haul up to 1,000-lbs.
This is a seriously small pickup
Unlike the cars they were based on, the Chevy Corsa pickup had much beefier underpinnings. They were built as small work vehicles and were not lavished with creature comforts.

The cockpit is small, for any vehicle; however, it is utilitarian. Adolfo takes great pains to show the audience its utility by storing a large toolbox behind the passenger’s seat. He also shows off some other humorous additions, including an inverter he installed. Honestly, it’s a great presentation.

Folks who live in the United States may not be used to a small pickup (or “Ute”) like this, but they are known for ruggedness, utility, economy, and reliability. For those who are into local nostalgia, the tiny Chevy Corsa is dwarfed by the old-school single-cab mini-trucks. And (other than some Subaru pickups), the mini-truck we had were all larger, more powerful, and had a frame.

One thing this video reminded us at TFLTruck: it doesn’t have to be a ridiculously expensive truck to be an awesome one.
Enjoy the video – it’s a gem!
