GentleTent
There are different inflatable camper options out there. The one pictured above is the “GT Pickup” model. When deflated, it sits seven-inches high and weighs 62-pounds. Once inflated, you have the roof-top section that can hold a full-size mattress. It also has a five-foot long living room section that has an internal height of over seven-feet. This tent system has lots of ventaliation openings, mosquito windows and a large entry door at the rear.
The inflatable tents come with an electric pump that plugs into your vehicle’s DC outlet. It appears that setup and take-down times run between 10 and 15 minutes. The telescopic ladder is essential as part of the strength of certain roof-top models as well. The pump can automatically achieve the desired pressure.
Rugged?
According to reports, GentleTent products can withstand high winds and stay firmly inflated for extended periods of time. In one case, the stand-alone product withstood hurricane winds of over 70-mph and remained firmly inflated for over three months.
Prices for the GT Pickup inflatable camper system start at $4,292.99. The smaller (2-3 person) GT Roof starts at $2,894.40. Most roof-top tents are priced from $1,200 to $4,000. One big difference is the weight and sheer size of the inflatable camper’s accommodations. Regular roof-top tents weight between 100 and 300 lbs.
GentleTent has several accessories available for their tent system which includes furniture, modular kitchen and more.
