The next-generation Nissan Frontier has been long-awaited. It appears to be a thorough redesign based on all of the prototypes we have seen and even one undisguised official teaser image from Nissan. The extended-cab truck (aka. King cab) appears to have relatively small clamshell-style rear cab doors. Although the precise design has not been unveiled yet. Overall, the Frontier prototype looks larger than the outgoing model with a squared-off front end.
Next to the truck is the next 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The two may share some mechanical components underneath. Perhaps, there will be a version of the Pathfinder that uses the same or similar new 3.8-liter gas V6 engine from the 2020 Frontier. The new V6 makes 310 horsepower and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
We cannot wait for the official unveiling of the new Frontier and Pathfinder. Before we get there, Nissan plans to debut a couple other new SUVs/crossovers.
