A close up look at these wheels and the previous images Hummer revealed show 8-lug wheel hubs. Traditionally, 8-lug hubs are used on heavy duty 3/4-ton (2500) and 1-ton (3500) pickup trucks with a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of 8,501 lbs or above.
Could it be that the new GMC Hummer EV truck has a GVWR of over 8,501 lbs? We don’t know this yet for sure, but it’s possible since the Hummer may be equipped with a 200 kWh battery pack that can weigh a lot.
