We purchased a new 2020 Ford Super Duty with the 7.3-liter gas V8 in December of 2019. We were one of the first people to get one in the Rocky Mountain region. We called this F-250 crew cab 4×4 FX4 truck “Super Tremor” because we had our own plans to turn the truck into a one-of-a-kind super-capable overland rig.

We immediately added a performance exhaust system to the truck with a Flowmaster “big block” muffler. Once again, we were one of the first to do uncork the big gas engine. We did not make it too loud, but we let it have just enough sound to really feel the power.
The truck remained this way for a while, until we sent it to the guys at Carli Suspension for a top of the line off-road suspension system. In the process of giving the truck a lift, part of the new exhaust system had to be removed. It was in the way of the new Deaver rear leaf springs. We also put on KMC wheels and 37-inch Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires. The truck was then mated to a Four Wheel Truck Camper.
We are almost ready to go on our long “No Pavement Needed” overland journey. We needed to bring the spare tire with us. We are fortunate to get the first Carli Suspension – Trophy HD hitch to accommodate the bigger tire under the truck.
Now we are back at Monster Muffler to fix the exhaust system and make sure it does not heat up the rear shocks or the spare tire too much. Check it out!
