Here is the Hummer H2 Towing 0-60 MPH Test – Does It Explode! (Video)

Or will it overheat?

What is it like to tow a trailer with the original 2003 Hummer H2? Let’s find out by hooking up to a 5,700 lbs boat trailer and doing a 0-60 MPH acceleration test!

Last time, I took my H2 up the Iron Clads trail in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It impressed by climbing up and over every obstacle with one exception of an icy slope. This is impressive for a massive (nearly 7,000 lbs) SUV without a locking front differential. If it had a locker or a limited slip in the front, it should have tackled an icy mountain, even on mud terrain BFG KM2 tires.

Now, it’s time for some trailering and towing with the 6.0-liter Vortec gas V8 and the 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine has descent power. It was originally rated at around 316 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque. However, the engine and transmission combination are really more meant for work rather than high performance play.

The results are in – this H2 is now the slowest towing 0-60 MPH time that we have registered at TFLtruck. It took nearly 36 seconds to accelerate this truck and trailer up to 60 MPH from a standstill. Check out the video below for all the fun.
