Ford has quite a few headline debuts this year, but fortunately now we know we won’t have much longer to wait for the new fourteenth-generation F-150 to emerge. In a recent tweet, a company spokesperson officially announced Friday that the 2021 Ford F-150 is coming on June 25, just three weeks or so from now.
From the spy shot above which we reported on back in February, the new F-150 isn’t a drastic shift from the current design. The front and rear ends have changed, but the overall design appears to be less revolutionary than previous generations we’ve seen. On the inside, there should be a more thoroughly updated interior, including a large infotainment screen as well as a fully digital instrument cluster, at least on Lariat and higher models.
What’s really going to set this fourteenth-generation 2021 Ford F-150 apart is the powertrain options. We still fully expect the Blue Oval to bring a wide range of engines to its new truck, ranging anywhere from EcoBoost V6 engines to a 5.0-liter V8 (that last one’s a little less certain, but Ford may not kill that engine off for a little while yet). However, we’re also going to get both hybrid and fully-electric versions of the F-150 as well.
The 2021 Ford F-150 will officially debut on June 25 at 8 PM EST, and TFLtruck will have a video covering everything we know about the truck when Ford finally unveils it. Stay tuned for more updates!
