VW teases a design sketch of an upcoming Amarok midsize pickup truck. This is reportedly a product of VW’s partnership with Ford. The next-generation Amarok truck is said to be based on a Ford Ranger chassis.
The sketch shows very aggressive styling, independent front suspension, and a built-in winch. While the production version of the truck is likely to be much more toned down – it’s an interesting glimpse into the future.
Will the VW Amarok ever be on sale in the United States? This may only be possible if the new Amarok is built alongside the new Ranger trucks in the United States. This would avoid the “chicken tax” when a truck is built overseas.
We will have to wait and see how this shakes out. First, we really need to see the 2021 Ford Bronco in the flesh! The new Bronco is also based on a Ford Ranger chassis.
